I like to see things like that and imagine the lives that occurred around that fireplace. Hope they were good ones. Looks like it was a two-story house. I wonder how old it is.
I would guess that it's at least one hundred years old since the chimney is all field stone and with no brick. The county it's located in was established in 1832.
The site was located "up a hollow" from the Tallapoosa River. Not much tillable land close by. Perhaps they did some subsistence farming and made a little liquor on the side.
